Bring your electric or hybrid car to eAutotohtori – we check your car’s health

Condition inspections of electric and hybrid vehicles play an important part of vehicle maintenance and in ensuring operation. The battery is the most expensive component in an electric vehicle, so it’s worth taking care of its health. The condition of the battery directly affects the car’s range, charging speed, and performance, and subsequently also the car’s resale value.

A-Katsastus offers reliable and impartial condition inspection services for electric and hybrid cars, helping you ensure your vehicle’s functionality and longevity. The inspection includes a battery test performed via the OBD connector and an examination of the chassis for dents and possible damage to the battery pack. We test the battery’s durability, capacity, and charging capability, and check for possible fault conditions and weak points.

WHAT YOU GET:

  • Comprehensive electric vehicle condition inspection
  • Thorough chassis condition analysis
  • Precise photographs of the car’s undercarriage
  • Wiring inspection
  • Aviloo SOH measurement (State of Health)

BENEFITS FOR YOU:

  • You ensure the car’s safety
  • You get an accurate picture of the battery’s condition
  • You can assess the car’s true resale value
  • You could avoid unexpected repair costs
  • You can plan maintenance measures in advance

eAutotohtori is like an ECG for your electric car – a health check that gives you confidence and peace of mind regarding your car.

What is SOH (State of Health)?

The battery, like all other technology in the car, wears out with use and over time. The SOH value interprets the current condition of the battery compared to the full capacity of a new battery. There are many factors that affect the wear of an electric or hybrid car battery, some of these include how often the battery has been charged and how quickly or slowly. Fast and frequent full charging wears out the battery faster than generally keeping the charge level (SOC) between 20-80%. Slow ”so-called home charging” doesn’t strain the battery in the same way as fast charging with high-power chargers.

What does SOC (State of Charge) mean?

The battery’s charge level, meaning how much of the battery is still available, i.e., how much ”fuel” is left. Most car manufacturers recommend not keeping the drive battery fully charged for long periods. Typically, the recommendation is to maintain a charge level between 20-80%. When the drive battery is frequently kept full, it causes internal pressure in the battery, which mechanically strains the battery, a bit like an overpacked trunk.

What is an Aviloo score?

AVILOO, the developer of the battery test, has created its own scoring system. In the scoring system, information collected from the car’s system is compared to previously performed similar tests, of which there are many. Additionally, the AVILOO score evaluates the effects of previous charging and driving behavior on the battery’s current condition.
