Terms of use for Ajovarma's services
Ajovarma acts as a service provider for the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom and a contractual partner for driver qualifications and personal road traffic permits.
Acceptance of terms
These terms apply to reservations made through all reservation channels. By making a reservation, you acknowledge having read and agree to these terms and conditions for reservations.
Reservations and confirmation
A reservation will be considered binding when it has been confirmed and you have received confirmation of the reservation. Confirmation of a reservation can be provided orally, or electronically through the reservations system. The booking system will notify you when your reservation has been confirmed, and you can receive a confirmation email if you wish.
Payment of reservations
Reservations can be paid for either in advance or at the service point. We accept Finnish bank cards, most common credit and debit cards, and cash payments. More information on methods and terms of payment is available at www.ajovarma.fi/payment-methods
If your driving or handling test is carried out at a different address from the Ajovarma service point, please ensure that your test has been paid for in advance.
We charge the public regulated services according to the valid decrees issued by the Ministry of Transport and Communications at the time.
Changing and cancelling reservations
Confirmation of your reservation will be accompanied by the reservation code, which you can use in paying for, changing or cancelling a reservation, if necessary.
The changing and cancellation of a reservation is possible through our online service. The exceptions are
- If you need to cancel the driving test, handling test or oral theory test, please, do it a day before your appointment and during the opening hours of our nationwide telephone service at +358 (0)29 534 5115 (Mon-Fri 8 am – 4.15 pm). Otherwise, reservations can only be modified by calling our nationwide telephone service at +358 (0)29 534 5115.
- For bookings made by the driving school, changes to reservations are processed through the school where the reservation was made. In these cases, please contact your driving school.
- Cancellations of prepaid reservations are handled via our nationwide telephone service at +358 (0)29 534 5115.
- Any changes to payment regulations may limit the transfer of pre-paid reservations.
Charges for cancellation
If you need to cancel a driving test, handling test or an oral theory exam, please do so no later than the previous business day during Ajovarma’s opening hours (Mon–Fri 8 am to 4:15 pm). Otherwise, a cancellation fee of 50 per cent will be charged for the reservation.
The cancellation fee will also be charged if the test cannot be carried out for reasons attributable to the customer (for example, due to missing documents, inadequate driving accessories, or an incorrectly installed or non-functioning learning pedal).
If the handling test or driving test must be cancelled due to hazardous driving conditions, the customer will not be charged for the unused reservation.
If Ajovarma is forced to cancel or transfer a reservation, no cancellation fee will be charged.
Ajovarma is not responsible for costs incurred as a result of a cancellation.
Responsibility of the User
The User is responsible for the use of the Service and for the material the User has left in the Service, as well as for ensuring that the use of the Service or the aforementioned material does not violate any third party’s intellectual property rights, industrial rights or other protected rights, and is not contrary to the terms of use or to any special terms, law or good practice, or cause any harm or disruption to the network, to Ajovarma, to contractual partners of Ajovarma, to other users of the Service, or to any other third parties. The User undertakes to compensate Ajovarma or a third party for any harm caused to them by the User.
