Terms of use for inspection and registration services
These terms of use apply to both online self-service bookings and bookings made through our customer service.
Acceptance of terms
By making a booking, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms of use. By confirming the booking, your provided information will be transferred to A-Katsastus’ information systems.
Selection of vehicle type
Ensure that you have entered the correct registration number and vehicle information. The reserved time and price apply only to the selected products and vehicle in the booking. If, for example, the vehicle type at the time of inspection does not match the information provided in the booking, the station will charge according to the actual situation.
Please also note that not all inspectors have the authorization to inspect vehicles weighing over 3500 kg or that large vehicles may not fit at all stations.
Selection of services
If you choose only the inspection service, you will need to bring a certificate of emission testing conducted elsewhere. The certificate is valid for 3 months. Otherwise, select a service that includes both the inspection and mandatory measurements. Then the necessary measurements will be carried out during the inspection.
When choosing a follow-up inspection, please note that the vehicle must be brought in for follow-up inspection before the date mentioned on the inspection certificate, otherwise a completely new inspection must be carried out.
Booking and confirmation
A booking is considered binding once it has been confirmed, and you have received a booking confirmation. This can be done verbally or electronically via email or SMS through the booking system.
Payment for the booking
Certain discounted prices, such as ”Etuaika,” require advance payment online. The Etuaika price is only valid for 15 minutes from the time of booking. If you pay for Etuaika at a later time, please note that the prices at the chosen station may change.
Payment for bookings at normal prices can be made either in advance or at the service point. Our payment service is provided by Paytrail.
Payment methods
Our service points accept Finnish bank cards, common credit and debit cards, as well as cash as payment methods.
Modifications and transfers of bookings
Paid bookings
For changes to paid appointments, please contact the national booking service at phone number +358 75 323 2222 (Mon-Fri 7.30 am-6 pm, Sat 9 am-2 pm). Please note that a paid booking can only be changed to a time with the same or lower price. If you have booked and paid for an inspection appointment at the normal price and change it to a cheaper time, the price difference will not be refunded. (Etuaika prices always require advance payment.)
Unpaid bookings
You can access your booking using the booking reference. You will find the booking reference in the booking confirmation. For unpaid bookings, you can make changes and cancellations yourself. An unpaid booking can be transferred to any available time regardless of the price.

Combining discounts
Discounted times cannot be combined with other discounts or offers.
Arrival and departure
We aim to start the service at the time specified in the booking confirmation. However, for inspection matters, please report approximately 10-15 minutes before the scheduled time to ensure timely access to the inspection.
Cancellation and no-show
Both paid and unpaid appointments can be canceled at any time before the booking time. For the cancellation of a paid booking and any potential refund, please contact the national booking service.
If you fail to appear for the scheduled appointment, the paid booking will not be refunded.
User responsibility
