Book an appointment for vehicle inspection
Make an appointment for inspection services. Cheaper timeslots for vehicle inspections can be found online and they apply to cars and vans. Cheaper timeslots must always be booked and paid for in advance.
Inspection of a museum vehicle
At least 30 years have passed since the end of the year of manufacture of the museum vehicle, and it must have been maintained in the same condition as the original, i.e. restored or conserved appropriately.
Museum vehicles used for non-authorised or licensed carriage of goods must be inspected no later than 4 years after the previous inspection (if the previous inspection was carried out on or after 14 May 2020). In contrast, museum vehicles used in licensed traffic must be inspected every year. In addition to other inspection targets, the periodic inspection also includes a check on the museum-worthiness of the vehicle.
Registering a vehicle as a museum vehicle
If the vehicle is to be a museum vehicle, it is subject to a modification or registration inspection. The necessary entries are made in the register during the inspection. The vehicle inspection requires a separate certificate of museum-worthiness issued by an inspector accredited by a museum car organisation. Based on this certificate and the inspection carried out during the vehicle inspection, the inspection office may register the vehicle as a museum vehicle.
